About us
The Gables Rest Home is a family run residential home located in the largest town in the Wyre Forest District, just 17 miles south west of Birmingham, Kidderminster; through which flows the River Stour and the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, has plenty on offer for residents and their families.
Home to the unique Museum of Carpet and a starting (and finishing point) for the world famous Severn Valley Heritage Railway, wonderful memories are made in this beautiful part of Worcestershire.
The Gables Rest Home is registered by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), to provide individual residential accommodation for 24 older people and accepts residents who are either self-funding or funded either in part, or wholly by the local authority.
During our most recent unannounced inspections in February 2019 the home was again rated as “Good” by the Care Quality Commission.

Taking care of the Elderly
It is of vital importance to us that we give extra special care to all people who stay with us. We have a range of care services including dementia care, residential care for the elderly, disabled care and convalescent care to make sure that all our residents receive the highest level of care that they deserve.
We do however understand that choosing these services for yourself or a loved one is a difficult and stressful decision. At The Gables we go to great lengths to assist in this process.
From the opportunity to visit our care homes, pre-assessments, orientation stays and a finite assessment of a resident’s needs and suitability, we aim to take the pressure and worry out of the selection process.
